Device Types
The Device Types view (Customers, Devices, and Alerts → Device Types) defines how Gillie handles devices of a certain type (for example, sensor, door sensor, alarm switch). The settings apply to all devices of that type within the organization.
Basic Information
- Device Type — the identifier for the device type (required).
- Description — a free-form description of the device type (required).
Operational Settings
- Unique Identifier — whether each device requires a unique identifier.
- No Device Pairing — the device does not need to be paired with a customer before use.
- Hide from Device List — devices will not appear in the normal device list.
Groups
A device type can belong to one or more device type groups. Groups help the AI recognize what kind of device it is.
Additional Functions
- Three-Dot Menu includes deletion and the Audit trail change log.
Note. When changing device type settings, the change immediately affects all devices of that type within the organization.
