Importing Data (Data Conversions)

Importing data (Organization → Data Import) allows you to bring CSV or text-formatted measurement or customer data into Gillie. The import is done as a step-by-step guided process (Stepper).

Step 1: Select File

  • Choose the character encoding (e.g., UTF-8) according to the file.
  • Drag and drop or select the file (.csv, .txt, .json).
  • The filename will appear below the previously selected mapping name.

Step 2: Field Mapping

Drag the source file columns to the correct target columns. The required field is Customer ID; other common fields include:

  • First Name, Last Name
  • Measurement Type (Measurement)
  • Value
  • Time (At)

Fields that are not mapped can be left in the Unmapped box. Continue with the Continue button once customer_id is mapped.

Step 3: Measurement Mapping

If the measurement field is mapped, specify for each source measurement value which Gillie measurement it belongs to. Mappings are done using autocomplete fields.

Step 4: Review and Import

When all fields are ready, the guided process will display a preview. Confirm the import to write the rows into the system.

Note. This view is specifically intended for importing data conversions (e.g., measurement history). Separate, customer-specific processes are used for importing customers, devices, and visits.

Warning. Check mappings carefully: incorrectly imported measurements cannot be undone with a single click.
