General
You can edit your own user settings in the profile view. Changes apply only to your own account and do not affect other users' views or customer information. This article covers general settings, changing the interface language, and email and push notifications.
Opening Settings
- Open your profile from the top right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Make the desired changes tab by tab.
- Save the changes. Most settings take effect immediately; some only after reloading the page.
Interface Language
The Gillie interface is available in multiple languages.
Changing the Language
- Open your profile → Settings.
- Open the Settings or Language tab.
- Select the desired language from the Language dropdown menu.
- Save.
- Reload the page (F5) for the change to appear everywhere.
What the Language Change Affects
| Item | Effect |
|---|---|
| Buttons, menus, headings | Change to the selected language. |
| Date formats | May change according to the language setting. |
| Customer information | Are not translated. Names and entries remain in the original language. |
| Diagnoses (ICD-10) | Retained in the official language defined in the organization. |
| Email notifications | Change to the selected language. |
Browser language does not affect this. Gillie uses the language selected in the profile, not the browser’s system language.
Multiple Languages at the Workplace
- Different team members can use different languages. Each person can select their own profile language.
- Acknowledgment comments and entries remain in the language they were written in.
Notifications
Gillie can notify you of new triggers, messages, and other events either by email or browser push notifications.
Email Notifications
- Open your profile → Settings.
- Select the Email Reports tab.
- Choose which events you want to receive emails about.
- Set the desired summary frequency (immediately, hourly, daily).
- Save.
- Allow notifications when the browser asks for permission the first time.
- If you have previously blocked notifications, allow them in the browser’s site settings (lock icon in the address bar → notifications → allow).
- Open Gillie’s Settings → Notifications.
- Select which events will trigger push notifications.
- Save.
Push Notification Content
- The title is the event type (e.g., "New trigger – fall risk").
- The content is a brief description and the customer identifier.
- Clicking opens Gillie directly to the correct view.
Mobile Notifications
- Push notifications work on mobile devices when Gillie is added as a shortcut on the home screen.
- Make sure notifications are allowed both in the browser and at the operating system level.
- On iOS, Gillie must be installed from the home screen for push notifications to work.
Password and Login
- You can change your password using the Change Password feature.
- You can change the two-factor authentication registration device in the profile settings.
Common Situations
"Language does not change"
- Reload the page (F5).
- Log out and log back in.
- Check that the profile setting was saved.
"Some text is still in another language"
Entries and some specialized terms (e.g., official study names or words from external systems) are intentionally kept in the original language.
"The language I need is missing"
Ask the administrator if additional languages can be added for the organization’s use.
"I am not receiving push notifications"
- Check in the browser’s site settings that notifications are allowed.
- Check the operating system’s notification settings to ensure browser notifications are enabled.
- Try opening Settings → Notifications and saving the settings again.
- On mobile, verify that Gillie has been added to the home screen.
- Contact the administrator.
"I receive too many emails"
Switch from individual notifications to a daily summary, or reduce the number of events you receive by email.
"Notifications arrive at the wrong time"
If shifts change during the night, you can schedule summaries to the start of the shift.
