Why Use Gillie on Mobile?
Gillie works on phones and tablets using the same address as on a computer. The user interface adapts to the screen size. During home care visits, transportation, or remote on-call situations, mobile use is often the fastest way to check the client's status and acknowledge alerts.
Getting Started
- Open the browser on your phone or tablet (Chrome or Safari).
- Go to your organization's Gillie address (the same as on your desktop).
- Log in with your credentials.
- Add the page as a shortcut to your home screen:
- iOS (Safari): Share button → Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): ⋮ menu → Install app or Add to Home Screen.
- Open Gillie from the home screen – the app will open in its own window without the browser bar.
Mobile Limitations
- The timeline and graphs work best on a tablet screen in landscape mode.
- Extensive viewing of statistics and reports is clearest on a desktop.
- Administrator view functions (e.g., user management) are not recommended on mobile.
Tips for Field Use
- Turn the device to landscape mode when viewing timelines or maps.
- Allow push notifications – you will receive alerts on your phone.
- Use the device's zoom feature if needed.
Common Situations
"The page does not display fully"
Turn the device to landscape mode or reduce the text size. Also, update your browser to the latest version.
"Notifications are not coming through"
Check that notifications are allowed both for the browser and at the operating system level. When you add Gillie to the home screen, push notifications come through the app.
"Connection is dropping"
Switch WiFi networks or move into mobile network coverage. Open views will refresh when the connection is restored.
Tip. Agree within your team which tasks are done in the field and which on the desktop. Mobile is excellent for checking the situation and communication, while the desktop is better for deeper analysis.
