Switching View (Change View)

Follow

Overview

If you have access rights to multiple organizations, you can switch views without logging out. This is typical, for example, for administrators.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Switch Organization from the lower left corner.
  2. Select the desired organization from the list.
  3. Gillie will load the selected view with its data.
  4. Check the top bar to ensure the active area is correct.

What does switching views affect?

TargetEffect
Customer listsDisplays customers of the selected area.
TriggersOnly shows triggers for the selected area or team.
StatisticsStatistics are calculated from the selected area’s data.
User rightsMay differ between areas. A function may be available in one area and not in another.
Entries and changesAre saved to the active area’s data.

Differences between view types

  • Area / organization – the same Gillie application, but with different customer populations and settings.

Best practices

  • Always check after switching views that the correct area is selected before making changes to customer information.
  • If possible, complete the work of one shift in one area at a time – this avoids mix-ups.
  • Area information usually appears in the top bar. Keep an eye on it especially during long sessions.

Common situations

"The Switch View menu is not visible"

You do not have rights to multiple areas or applications. Ask an administrator to add the rights if you need them.

"I switched the area, but old data is still showing"

Reload the page (F5). In some views, the cache needs to be cleared by refreshing the browser.

"I made a change in the wrong area"

Switch to the correct area and correct the change. Also check the Changes log to track what has been done.

Important. Pay special attention to switching areas if you have customers with the same name in different areas.

Tip. Keep a record of which areas belong to your tasks and when – this way you keep the overall picture under control.
