Why is the glossary important?
Gillie uses several professional terms with precise meanings. A shared glossary ensures that we talk about the same things in the same way – especially in internal team communication, alert acknowledgment comments, and documentation.
Alert
Alert is an observation generated by Gillie's artificial intelligence that prompts a professional to assess the client's situation or take action.
| Attribute | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Type | What the matter concerns – e.g., risk of falling |
| Urgency level | Red (urgent, ~10 minutes), yellow (~3 days), gray (~30 days). |
| Background | Information on which the alert was based (measurements, notes, events). |
| Status | Open, Actions taken, or No action required. |
Measurement
Measurement is a single observation or value about the client. A measurement can be, for example:
- blood pressure reading, weight, or blood sugar
- home care visit
- door opening or bed sensor status
- RAI assessment scores
- successful medication dispensing or deviation by the medication robot
Measurements have a timestamp, source information, and the measurement group to which they belong.
Measurement Group
Measurement Group is a set of related measurements displayed together. The measurement group also determines on which tab clients appear in the client list.
In practice, Gillie’s view configuration groups measurements into main groups such as:
- vital — vital measurements (blood pressure, pulse, saturation, respiratory rate, temperature, etc.).
- person — person-related measurements and assessments (including RAI scores, weight, BMI).
- device — device status notifications and device errors.
The groups and their contents used by your organization are defined on the administrator side and may differ from those listed above.
Label
Label is a colored tag used to classify clients or devices. Labels appear in client lists, cards, and the client view.
- The administrator creates and manages labels in the Labels view.
- Caregivers see labels but typically do not edit them.
- Devices have their own separate labels (Device labels).
User-related concepts

| Team | User group responsible for certain clients. Team division limits which clients you can see. |
| Area / organization | Higher-level entity (e.g., welfare area, city, municipality, service provider). A user may have rights to multiple areas. |
| Administrator | User responsible for the organization's Gillie settings, users, and integrations. |

- AI explanations – an open view showing which measurements and notes a particular alert or recommendation is based on.
Activity-related concepts
- Timeline – a graphical view presented in chronological order of client events and measurements.
- Acknowledgment – caregiver’s response to an alert: Actions taken or No action required, plus a free comment.
- Change log – event history that records every change and view.
Best practices
- If a term is unclear, ask the administrator – this glossary is intended as a common foundation.
