General
You can change your password anytime from your user profile or recover a forgotten password through the login page. Typically, access rights come from your organization's IT department via SSO or a similar method, so you may not need a password to log in.
Changing Your Password from Your Profile
- Log in to Gillie.
- Open your profile from the upper right corner.
- Select Change Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password and confirm it by typing it again.
- Click Save.
In most organizations, you will need to log in with your new password the next time you sign in. Existing sessions may remain active until they expire.
Forgotten Password Recovery
If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it yourself via the login page. This process does not require contacting the administrator if a recovery link is sent to your email.
- Open the Gillie login page.
- Click the Forgot your password? link.
- Enter your username (usually your work email).
- Click Send recovery link.
- Open your email and find the message containing the recovery link.
- Open the link — it is valid for a limited time.
- Enter a new password and confirm it by typing it again.
- Click Save and log in with your new password.
Note: Never click a password recovery link that you did not request yourself. If you receive an unexpected message, notify your administrator and delete the message.
Characteristics of a Good Password
Although the technical requirements are minimal, we recommend choosing a password that is:
- Long — the longer, the harder to crack.
- Varied — combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Unique — do not use the same password on other services.
- Not personally guessable — avoid using names, birthdates, or your organization’s name.
Common Situations
"I didn’t receive the recovery email"
- Check your spam folder and your organization’s quarantine mail.
- Make sure you used the correct email address (usually your work email).
- Ask your administrator to verify that your account is active and the email address is correct.
- If you are using SSO authentication, the password is changed through your organization’s own system, not Gillie.
"The recovery link doesn’t work"
Check that the link has not expired and open it using the same device and browser where you started the recovery. If needed, request a new recovery link.
"The new password is not accepted — does not meet requirements"
Check your organization’s password policy with your administrator. Usually, a minimum length and different types of characters are required.
"The current password is not accepted"
Make sure caps lock is not on. If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot your password? function described above.
"I changed my password, but I’m not receiving email notifications"
Changing your password may reset your session. Log in again and check your notification settings.
