In the map view, you can select which information is shown to focus only on what’s relevant, e.g., your team’s open alerts or devices.
- Customers (all, selected teams)
- Open alerts
- Devices
- Device alerts
- Open search settings (in the top bar).
- Choose filters — the map updates automatically.
- Reset filters to return to the default view.
Map Markers and Location Accuracy
Map markers provide information about the item in addition to its location. The location can be either precise (e.g., device GPS coordinates) or approximate (address or postal code area).
| Accuracy | Source |
|---|---|
| Precise | Device GPS coordinates. |
| Approximate | Address, postal code. |
| Unknown | No location available. |
- The color of the marker usually corresponds to the status or urgency (compare alerts).
Point Details Panel
- Click a map point.
- In the popup card, you will see the item’s name, status, location, and links to more detailed views.
- Click a link to navigate to the customer’s or alert’s own view.
- Close the card by pressing X or clicking elsewhere on the map.
Best Practices
- Start with a wide zoom and then narrow down to the area.
- Filter the view, for example, to “devices” mode when you want to see device locations.
- Do not rely solely on approximate locations. Verify the address from the source system before proceeding to the site.
- Use the panel links to maintain map context (returning to the map is quick).
- If you notice incorrect coordinates, report them to the administrator.
Common Situations
“Nothing shows on the map”
Check filters and zoom level. Too close a zoom may hide points.
“Too many points, cluttered view”
Refine filters or zoom into a smaller area.
“Multiple points at the same location”
Zoom in closer or click the cluster — multiple points will spread out to be visible.
“Map marker is clearly in the wrong place”
The location source may be incorrect. Open details and compare the address. Correction should be requested from the administrator.
Important. Do not make conclusions about the customer’s situation based solely on the location shown on the map; always verify with other sources.
