Overview

The Map view displays the locations of customers, alerts, and devices on a geographical map. It helps you see the overall picture of the area.

Map Components

Search BoxFinding a customer on the map.

How to Use the Map

  1. Open Devices > Map from the main navigation.
  2. Select the items to display from the filters.
  3. Move around the map by dragging; zoom with the mouse wheel or +/- buttons.
  4. Click a point to see detailed information and open the customer's view.

Filtering and Restrictions

In the map view, you can choose what information to display so you can focus only on what’s relevant, e.g., your team's open alerts or devices.

  • Customers (all, selected teams)
  • Open alerts
  • Devices
  • Device alerts
  1. Open search settings (top bar).
  2. Select restrictions — the map updates automatically.
  3. Reset restrictions when you want to return to the default view.

Map Markers and Location Accuracy

Map markers provide information about the item in addition to the location. The location can be either precise (e.g., device GPS coordinate) or approximate (address or postal code area).

AccuracySource
PreciseDevice GPS coordinate.
ApproximateAddress, postal code.
UnknownNo location available.
  • The color of the marker usually corresponds to the status or urgency (compare alerts).

Point Information Panel

  1. Click a map point.
  2. In the card that opens, you’ll see the item’s name, status, location, and links to more detailed views.
  3. Click a link to go to the customer’s or alert’s own view.
  4. Close the card by pressing X or clicking elsewhere on the map.

Best Practices

  • Start with a wide zoom and narrow down to the area.
  • Filter the view, e.g., to "devices" mode when you want to see device locations.
  • Do not rely solely on approximate locations. Verify the address from the source system before going on-site.
  • Use the panel links to keep the map context (returning to the map is quick).
  • If you notice incorrect coordinates, report them to the administrator.

Common Situations

"Nothing shows on the map"

Check the filters and zoom level. Too close a zoom can hide points.

"Too many points, cluttered view"

Refine restrictions or zoom into a smaller area.

"Multiple points at the same location"

Zoom in closer or click the cluster — multiple points will spread out to be visible.

"Map marker is clearly in the wrong place"

The location source may be incorrect. Open the details and compare the address. Request a correction from the administrator.

Important. Do not make conclusions about the customer’s situation based solely on the location shown on the map; always verify from other sources.
