Overview
The bed sensor detects the presence of the client in bed and their sleep state. This information aids in sleep monitoring, vital measurements, and detecting nighttime exits.
States
- In Bed — the sensor detects the client is in bed.
- Sleeping — the sensor recognizes sleep.
- Awake — the client is in bed but awake.
- Not in Bed — the client is not in bed.
Additionally, the level of sleep is described with different depths (light sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep).
Viewing
- Open the client's profile.
- Navigate to physical functionality (sleep / circadian rhythm).
- Select a time period and review the nighttime rhythm.
- Open vital signs to see changes in the client's vital data.
Best Practices
- Compare sleep periods over weeks and months — look for changes.
- Use sleep data as support, not as the sole source.
