Device Details and Data Points

The device detail view displays the device's identification information, settings, and the measurement data it produces. The fields in the view are dynamically constructed based on the device type settings, so different device types have slightly different fields.

Basic Device Information

The most commonly displayed information:

  • Name — the identifiable name of the device.
  • External id / Serial number — a unique identifier.
  • Ext system id — identifier of the external system.
  • Device type-specific settings — e.g., alarm_radius and alarm_radius_on for tracking devices.
  • Measurement default status — the default state of measurements.
  • Comments — free text description.

Additionally, administrators may see settings such as protect from disable, external id reuse, and pipeline settings.

Data Points

Device data points are visible in the customer context under the Datapoints tab as well as at the organization level in the Datapoints view.

A data point is a single measurement or event produced by the device. The list shows:

  • Timestamp.
  • Measurement type and value.
  • Source information (e.g., device).

Clicking on a data point opens a more detailed view of the measurement content.

Measurements in the Customer View

On the customer's Measurements tab, measurements are presented grouped according to the viewdefinition configuration (e.g., vital, person, device). For more information: see the article Measurements — view, groups, and reference values.

Tip. Use data point filters to search for a specific event over a long period. Different device types produce different data points — compare the device type settings in the administrator interface if unclear.
